Ladies Day / Garden Party 25th June 2009

Sue Madine, a family friend and neighbour who hosted a ladies day and garden party on the 25th June.

The day got off to a gloomy start as it was absolutely pouring down for the first couple of hours, but it didn’t dampen any spirits as the ladies turned up in fancy dresses and headwear fully embracing the day, and the weather did clear up just in time for lunch.  The entrance fee included a goody bag and lunch and entry into a ‘lucky number’ draw.

There were various stalls selling jewellery, hand-made cards, turned wood, plants, body shop products, unwanted gifts that had been donated, and a nail bar and also a raffle and a “buy a car part” to win a weekend in Edinburgh.  And there was a sugar craft demonstration in the afternoon.

It was an extremely fun and successful day raising approximately £1,500.

So a massive thanks to Sue for all your effort and to both you and John for giving up your time and home over to host this event, it is very much appreciated.  Thank you also too all the stall holders for their time and donations, all those who donated prizes and to everybody who turned up.
