Urban Art Event, 14th & 15th October 2009

Well, it was hard work getting the two days up and and running but we did it and we are very happy with how it went, particularly Thursday evening.  If anything could have been any better then that something would have been the weather as unfortunately it did start to drizzle early evening, but thankfully the live-painting was still able to go ahead.

Nick Walker kicked off the auction with a short, but emotional speech wetting the eyes of both Mike and Stef, and then the bidding commenced, raising £24,545.00.  An amazing amount, raffle ticket and other sales will take us over the £25,000.00 mark, a huge step closer to getting Mike back on the road.  The full auction results can be found at the end of the blog.

Following the auction there was still time for some live music and more drinks, all in all a brilliant evening and we have many people to thank including the artists who donated and painted, B-dings curry, Relish for the bar, John Jones, Tunnadine Fine Art, Niche Frames and Frontier Frames for framing donations, The Paintworks’ Natalie & Sara, to everybody who sweated blood to get the show up and down again, Bash & China for the music and a huge and special thanks to Dreweatts and ATGMedia for getting behind us and making it such a big event and to Mary and Abbie from Dreweatts who, lets be honest, we couldn’t have achieved what we did without you.
